What Is Automation Consulting?

A Clear Plan Before Any Implementation

Automation consulting is the process of mapping your current business operations, identifying which tasks are good candidates for automation, understanding the dependencies and tools involved, and producing a prioritised implementation roadmap with realistic costs and timelines.

It's the smartest first step for businesses that want to automate properly, rather than implementing random automations that don't connect, or paying for tools they don't need. The output is a document you own and can use to guide implementation, whether that's with us or someone else.

What the consulting engagement covers

  • Discovery session: understand your current tools, processes and team
  • Process mapping: document how work currently flows through the business
  • Opportunity identification: which processes are best suited for automation
  • Tool recommendations: which platforms best fit your needs and budget
  • Prioritised roadmap: what to automate first, second and third
  • ROI estimates: expected time savings and revenue impact per automation
  • Implementation scoping: realistic timelines and costs per initiative
  • Written report: yours to keep and act on
How It Works

From Discovery to Roadmap in 2 to 3 Weeks

A consulting engagement gives you everything you need to make smart automation decisions, before any implementation begins.

1
Free 30 minute audit call
We start with a no obligation conversation about your business, your current processes and the biggest time or revenue drains you're experiencing.
2
Deep discovery session
A structured 90 minute session (remote or in person) where we walk through your core business processes in detail: sales, operations, finance, client servicing, admin.
3
Process mapping and analysis
We map your processes visually, identifying which steps are manual, repetitive and high effort, and which are best suited to automation.
4
Tool and platform review
We assess the tools you already use and identify where integrations are possible, where gaps exist and which new platforms (if any) would unlock the most value.
5
Prioritised automation roadmap
We produce a written roadmap with specific automation recommendations, ordered by impact and effort, giving you a clear sequence of what to implement and when.
6
Roadmap presentation and Q&A
We walk you through the roadmap, answer questions and help you decide which initiatives to start with. You leave with a clear plan you can act on immediately.

"Most businesses waste their first automation budget on the wrong things. A small investment in proper discovery and roadmapping upfront saves significantly more downstream, by ensuring every automation you build is the right one, connected to the right systems, in the right order."

FAQ

Questions About Automation Consulting

No. The roadmap is yours to use however you like. Many clients implement with us after consulting, but you're free to use the roadmap to brief any implementation partner, or to implement internally if you have the technical capacity.

Typically 2 to 3 weeks from the discovery session to the final roadmap delivery. The process requires 2 to 3 hours of your time: the discovery session, a review call and the final presentation. We do the mapping, analysis and documentation in between.

No, the free audit is a 30 minute initial conversation to understand your situation and identify whether consulting or direct implementation is the right next step. The full consulting engagement is a separate, paid service with comprehensive deliverables.

Yes. All discovery sessions, reviews and presentations are available via video call. For clients in the Johannesburg area, in person sessions are also available on request.

Then you might not need the full consulting engagement, you can go straight to implementation. We'll confirm during the free audit whether a scoping session or direct implementation kickoff is the right approach for your situation.

Consulting pricing depends on the size of your business and the scope of the engagement. We quote per engagement after the free audit. Most consulting engagements pay for themselves within the first implemented automation.
